Additional Pumps

A choice of modularly interchangeable stators and rotors makes it versatile for processing a wide variety of products. Variable speed drives may also be used to further adjust the shear and mixing effect.

  • Texturizes to give a smooth body and texture to products such as ricotta cheese and food pastes.
  • Emulsifies to make stable emulsions of products with both oil and water based ingredients
  • Blends to provide continuous, on-line blending without air incorporation or lumps of dry product
  • Reconstitutes to assist reconstitution of powdered products such as milk powders
  • Suspends/disperses to give stable solids in liquid suspension
  • Polishes to improve the appearance of products by providing a smoother and more uniform surface texture
  • Pumps as it processes (low viscosity liquids)
  • Versatile; choice of modularly interchangeable stator and rotor combinations to texturize, emulsify, blend, reconstitute, suspend, disperse or polish (improve appearance)
  • The stationary spring is located outside the product contact area to maintain cleanliness
  • Sanitary design for processing food or pharmaceutical products
  • 3-A sanitary design for food and pharmaceutical processing

Colloid Mills

A wide range of product viscosity may be processed, limited only by the maximum 150 psi (10 bar) inlet pressure. Higher viscosity products are processed at lower flow rates to stay within the pressure limit.

  • Up to 50% more flow rate with less heat than other mills
  • Easy to adjust; calibrated ring sets spacing; no special tools; less downtime; may be adjusted while operating
  • Easy to disassemble, only 7 basic parts; cleaning and inspection quick and easy; may also be cleaned in place
  • Longer bearing and seal life; shaft and bearing position independent of clearance adjustment; quieter operation
  • 3-A sanitary design for food and pharmaceutical processing
  • 3-A sanitary design for food and pharmaceutical processing Flow rates: 6.7 to 33.3 gpm (25 to 126 l/m)

Air and Electric Diaphragm

Diaphragm pumps are positive displacement pumps than can be used to meter, dose and transfer liquids. Most diaphragm pumps are air operated but electrical options are available. These pumps move slurries, solvents and other high viscosity liquids, both corrosive and non-corrosive. You can choose from an extensive selection of materials to handle numerous applications.

Designed with fewer parts than competitive pumps, Graco’s air operated double diaphragm pumps feature a stall-free, low pulsation air valve, which is externally accessible—ensuring rapid changeovers and minimum downtimes.

Graco’s electric double diaphragm pumps (EODD) are ideal for applications that require low pulsation and a smooth flow. Their energy efficient electric drive reduces energy consumption up to 5x compared to traditional air operated diaphragm pumps.

Each pump is ruggedly constructed to resist corrosion and deliver a long, trouble-free product life

Progressive Cavity

A progressive cavity pump is a type of positive displacement pump that uses a helical rotor and stator assembly to move the product. The rotor turns in an eccentric fashion forming cavities within the stator to draw the product in and progress it forward. Progressive cavity pumps are used in many different industries and have a broad application range for the continuous, pressure-stable, gentle, low shearing and low pulsation conveyance of almost any substance. These valve-less pumps are capable of transporting stringy material safely and can be used in the fluid metering and pumping of viscous materials.

The progressive cavity pumps are self priming, low foaming and can gently pump liquids, pastes, gels, vegetable oils, wine sauces, paints, grease, jam, butter, honey milk cream, soft cheese toppings, yogurt and any similar products.

The 200 Series one-piece impeller/shaft sleeve design not only extends the life of seals, but it reduces the number of shaft seal sizes to one, resulting in a minimum spare parts inventory requirement.

These stationary seals are designed to last longer with a siliconized carbon (standard) lapped seat that is replaceable and reversible. This provides an excellent mating surface for the variety of rotary seals including food grade hard carbon, siliconized carbon, silicon carbide and tungsten carbide. No matter how demanding your application, there’s a Waukesha seal that’s tough enough to handle it.

Waukesha’s pump offering includes eight sizes of pumps from 4.5” (114 mm) to 10.5” (267 mm) impeller diameter. All use the same size seal.

Combination Seal Options:

  • Single external mechanical seal
  • Single mechanical with a water cascade
  • Double mechanical seal

Elastomer Material Options:

  • Fluoroelastomer (FKM) O-Ring Standard
  • EPDM
  • Silicone
  • Perfluoroelastomer (FFKM)

Example Mechanical Seal Options:

  • John Crane Type 8-1 (inside mounted seal)
  • John Crane Type 8B2 (outside mounted seal)
  • John Crane Type 8-1 Double Seal
  • John Crane Type 9 (inside mounted seal)
  • John Crane Type 9 Double Seal
  • John Crane Type 21 (inside mounted seal)
  • John Crane Type 21 (Double seal)
  • Chesterton 440 (outside mounted seal)
  • Chesterton 880 (inside mounted seal)
  • Flowserve/Durametallic Type “CRO” Double Seal
  • Flowserve/Durametallic Type “RA” (externally mounted seal)
  • Flowserve/Durametallic Type “RO” (internally mounted seal)

An optional water cascade attachment is available for handling products that tend to crystallize. It also protects the seal against overheating due to high vacuum conditions or high product temperatures.

For particularly adverse applications, 200 Series pumps are also available with an external balanced seal with replaceable silicon carbide mating surface.

The water-cooled rotary double seal (Double Mechanical Seal Cutaway) features two seals fully enclosed with a stainless steel seal housing. Water or other suitable coolant circulates through the housing under moderate pressure to cool the seal surfaces.
